What was the highlight of Nautilus Plaza Hotel

Great location for budget travelers

The hotel has great location and the staff is friendly. The rooms are simple and clean. The breakfast was tasty and provided a good start of the day.

The street outside is quite noisy and my colleagues had lots of mosquitoes in their rooms. At one point the staff called to ask if they could move my colleague to another room. They respected the no, but it was quite an odd suggestion to make over the phone instead of when we were in the hotel.

Solid Old City location if not for the noise (see negatives). Breakfast was sufficient.

Way too loud of a spot. You heard every horn honk, partying through the night, construction starting early in the morning, really impossible to sleep. The main staff we interacted with always looked like she had a grudge against us.

Very clean rooms, some of them quite spacious (but maybe without closet). Nice art accessories in the rooms. Small, but delicious breakfast, freshly prepared. Staff a bit reserved on arrival, but then quite friendly and supportive.

First night was a nightmare: The receptionist wasn't able to find my name in the system and wanted me to sign another guest's reservation. Then we were assigned to a room with nearly no daylight. When we returned from dinner, it was stinking like hell of rotten fish. Obviously coming out of the drain, as bathroom was located over the restaurant's kitchen. We had to insist to change room in the morning, but then got a nice and spacious one in the upper floor. Hotel is located at one of the main entrances to old town, so rooms heading out to the avenue are a noisy. No butter served with bread for breakfast, but you get some when you ask for it.

just because no to much option.

for travel with big luggage is not recommend at all, this room don't have any type of customer service. water is a problem, they overcharge me my card, in addition of this they don't give blanket. really bad experience, not recommend at all

A good hotel, however very noisy and poor cleaning room

Good points - the breakfast was good for the Colombian pattern. Staff were always super friendly, polite and helpful, when we arrived they gave us full information and tips about Cartagena.

Bad points- There are 2 buildings. The one close to the wall is super noisy at night and during the morning (cars, honks, people in the streets), we couldn’t sleep and rest properly. The other one (called Aguas de San Pedro) was a bit less noisy but we still could hear the sounds from breakfast and people walking in - if you want to sleep, ear protections are mandatory. Staff should speak in lower volume and stimulate guests to do the same, specially at night and during the early morning. Our room was very dirty, even after cleaning (many hairs in the floor, in the bathroom and on the bed). The location is not the best in the city amuralhada (10-15 min walking from restaurants and main squares). Bath was cold. I missed a mirror to see for yourself and your whole body in the room. The water leaked out of the shower because the stall was closed with only a curtain

Value for money?

The location of the hotel is great for tourists since it's walking distance away from mayor tourist attractions . The AC works great which is vital for such a hot town.

My room didn't have basic amenities like a phone or a safe and the TV didn't work (we told the staff and didn't get a resolution). Also I was a bit worried about the door that led to the small balcony because it didn't quite shut properly; I felt like the room could be easily breached.

The location and bed was very good, I think the price is only based on location. Beside from the location, the hotel is not anything special. We expected more.

They did not speak so good English, that is no problem, we figured it out. The service could be way better, we had to cross the street for the reception everyday to get towels because they forgot to put them in the rooms. The breakfast was okay.. but you could only choose 1 thing. So when we asked for pancakes and some cereal, we were answered with a no... so it’s the small things were they need to make the extra service. We had no hot water

The hotel was satisfactory and provided the essentials that I needed for a shor two night stay.

The location is very convenient for exploring the old town and the hotel offers a nice made to order breakfast in the morning.

The room and bathroom are very basic. The bed offers a sheet and no blanket and the bathroom offers two well worn bath towels and one hand towel for a couple. The area is well connected but extremely noisy day and night.

Cheap but not worth it, fish smell and loud noises will keep you awake

The staff and the location was the best thing about this place

The hotel smelt of fish, I believe is because it is on top of a seafood and fish restaurant, but being in the room made me feel a bit sick, there were hairs in the shower and the music from a nearby place could be heard as if we were in the party ! We asked to be changed and the staff were happy to provide us with a new room. The problem with the new room (which was in the building across the road, was that the sheets were slightly stained and that the next morning breakfast was just outside our door. Overall, this would not be a place I would reccomend for anyone to stay, as it is cheap but bad. I have stayed in rooms that are the same price or cheaper and had far better experineces.
